Rubber roof coatings are commonly applied to roofs made of thin aluminum, or tin sheeting. This type of roofing has a tendancy to contract and expand with different temperature conditions. Rubber roof coatings can be thermosetting that will contract and expand with the roofing.
They can be semi soft coatings, and compatibility with other roof coatings can be a problem, but they have excellent weathering capabilities.
